My beloved Britney Spears turned 25 yesterday amidst a maelstrom of skanky melodrama. What does her astrological chart predict for the coming year? Will she continue her distressing new friendship with She Who Shall Not Be Named, For Publicity Feeds Her Horrible Power? Or will she triumphantly rebound from her rebound phase, put on a pair of panties and remind the world what a *cough* talented artist she is?

Britney's solar return chart, a birthday horoscope cast to show the tone of the approaching year, suggests a lot of instability and perhaps some skeletons coming out of the closet. Mutable signs are on all four angles of the chart, suggesting Britney will feel pulled in different directions this year rather than setting her own course. And her natal Virgo 12th house comes to the Ascendant of the solar return chart, suggesting that Britney's secret self-destructive urges are coming to the forefront of her personality for all to see. Ya think?

Even amidst all the chaos, there is a chance for Britney to experience some real growth and learning this year, and to find her own voice—again or perhaps for the first time. There is an emphasis on communication in the solar return. Mercury, the chart ruler, is rising from the 2nd house, and five planets are in the 3rd house (natural home of Mercury); of those, four, all in Sagittarius, are also positioned in the natal 3rd house.
