What a grand day is today! Happy birthday to my sweet angel, the all-American symbol of all that makes America great, the queen of the ice princesses, Michelle Kwan, who turns 26 today. It's a banner day for women's sports, obv, as WNBA star Lisa Leslie turns 34.

Wow. First Michelle and now this... my celebrity birthday cup runneth over, I tell ya. Robia LaMorte, who turns 36 today, is one of a very rare and special breed of (semi-)celebrities. Why, you ask? Well, Miss LaMorte has the distinction of having played Jenny Calendar on Buffy AND, as I just discovered thanks to the magic of SoapNet and DVR, the unmemorable hardened-girl-from-NYC-who-had-been-raped-but-opened-her-heart-to-Brandon-Walsh-and-learned-to-trust-again on 90210. In case you were wondering, other stars who have appeared on both of my all-time favorite shows include Emma Caulfield (Anya/another of Brandon's unmemorable girlfriends), Seth Green (Oz/Brenda's geeky blind date from Princeton School for Boys), and of course, Torrance High School (Sunnydale High/West Beverly High). Birthday Predictions for Tom Cruise: Wedding On or Off?

As promised, in honor of his 44th birthday on July 3, I checked out the solar return chart for Tom "Cuckoo Crazy" Cruise, proud papa to baby Suri (who may or may not exist) and eager fiancé of Katie Holmes (whom he may or may not ever marry). See Tom Cruise's birth chart (Astrotheme)

The solar return chart is calculated for the moment the Sun returns to the point it's at in the person's birth chart, and represents the year ahead. So it may be able to provide some insights about what's going on inside that crazy head of Tom's and whether his relationship with Katie is headed for the altar.

In the solar return chart, two-faced Gemini is on the Ascendant, with Venus in Gemini rising. This could represent the false face Tom is currently presenting to the world and/or the fact that he will spend this year figuring out how to do an about face on his relationship with Katie and back out of the marriage.

Also in the solar return chart, Chiron and Neptune flank the Midheaven in Aquarius, suggesting pain and deception around his career goals, related to the media and public perception. The mask Tom has been wearing in public is starting to crack. He may be deeply wounded (Chiron) by the public's disillusionment (Neptune) with him and the downturn in his image.

Opposing Chiron and Neptune in the solar return chart, Saturn and Mars in Leo straddle the cusp of the 4th house of home and family, signifying hardship and conflict in the household. Ego and drama (Leo) may be at play in the family dynamic. With Saturn right on the 4th house cusp, there is a strong will to control the family.

This theme is echoed by power-thirsty Pluto in the solar return/transit chart on Tom's natal 4th house cusp, and squaring his controlling Virgo Ascendant. Tom is all about micromanaging his loved ones right now—his reported obsession with Katie losing her baby weight for the wedding, for instance, is a freakish indicator of the extent to which he wants to control her.

Solar return Mars on his natal Venus in Leo (hey, just like Lindsay Lohan's solar return chart) is another indication that Tom is determined to have his own way in relationships and capable of getting aggressive or at least freaking out if anyone tries to stand up to him. Mars opposes Neptune, suggesting his temper may be caused at least partly by the pressure of keeping up an illusion.

So, will Tom marry Katie this year? There are some indicators that point to a wedding. With Venus, again, rising, and binding Saturn on the IC (4th house cusp), a committed relationship could be in the cards. But Venus is weak in fickle Gemini, and weakened further in Tom's solar return chart. Taurus, one of the signs it rules, is intercepted (stifled) in the self-destructive 12th house while Libra, Venus' other sign, is in the unromantic 6th house of duty and health. In other words, this will be the kind of wedding that people are forced to get in shape for due to contractual requirements, not exactly a spontaneous outpouring of love. And with Venus in changeable Gemini, things might just get called off at the last minute, with Tom making a "She knows what she did" declaration a la the Nicole sitch.

In the short term, Tom's deceptions may just get grander as transiting Jupiter conjuncts his natal Neptune this August. But with transiting Pluto knocking at the door of Tom's 4th house for the entire coming year, his home and family life are undergoing deep-seated transformation. His foundation may be about to be rattled to the core. Let's just hope Katie and Suri (if she exists) won't find their own lives shaken up too badly in the process.

Birthday Predictions for Lindsay Lohan: More Trouble Ahead?

As of today, Lindsay Lohan need not worry about the hated "teen queen" label, for this Crab-cakes (born July 2, 1986) has hit the big 2-0. In honor of La Lohan's 20th, I thought I'd take a peep at her solar return chart and see if maturing out of her teenage years will inspire Linds to settle down and stabilize.

Ohhh, dear. Well, I'm sorry to say that her birthday forecast does not show Lindsay likely to outgrow her feisty firecrotch ways anytime soon. With a mutable T-square in her chart between Jupiter in vulnerable Pisces, volatile Uranus in Sagittarius and sore point Chiron in Gemini, Lindsay has a tendency to instability as it is. Her combination of the Sun in sensitive Cancer and Mercury and Venus in self-centered Leo make her need a lot of attention and validation, and with the Sun's opposition to Mars, she may act out if she doesn't get it. ~ See Lindsay Lohan's birth chart (Astrotheme, no birth time) All these tendencies are unfortunately reinforced in Lindsay's solar return chart for the coming year, suggesting a turbulent 2006–2007 that could see her plunge even further off the deep end.

Solar return Jupiter is trine Lindsay's natal Sun in Cancer and conjunct natal Pluto in Scorpio, meaning power and control issues will emerge in a big way for Lindsay this year. In the solar return chart, Jupiter also forms a grand water trine with the Sun in Cancer and Uranus in Pisces, auguring issues with addiction and impulse behavior getting out of control. If Lindsay finds herself unable to possess and control who or what she wants (Sun/Pluto) she might act out with self-destructive, self-medicating behavior.

This out-of-control water energy is already starting to become a trend for Linds. Think back to the grand water trine I warned her about in May and its potential for erratic, addictive behavior. (Why doesn't Lindsay listen to me?!) If you'll recall, Lindsay spent the month of May promoting Prairie Home Companion on morning shows in the clothes she'd been wearing the night before. She also got into beef with She Who Shall Not Be Named, For Publicity Feeds Her Horrible Power; and was of course embroiled in Firecrotchgate after Brandon "Jabba the Hut Lite" Davis besmirched her, um, good reputation.

Do we have more of this excessive partying and arguing to look forward to from L.Lo this year? I'm afraid so, since solar return Mercury on her natal Mercury and solar return Mars on her natal Venus, all in Leo, suggest Lindsay giving free rein to all that self-centered, impulsive, insistent-on-getting-her-own-way Leo energy. Especially if alcohol and/or other substances are in the mix, the mix of fire and water energies could be toxic. Solar return Mars on Lindsay's Venus is activating the natal inconjunct between Venus and Mars in Capricorn. Mars rules passion as well as temper; Lindsay's tendency to blow up if she doesn't get what she wants is going to come out in full force this year. Only recently she picked a fight with hard-core Scorpio Diddy at a party, which is really not a wise move; you just don't want to cross powerful Scorpios, people. In her professional life, Lindsay seems to have managed to use her Sun's opposition to Mars in Capricorn to give her drive and discipline, but in her personal life it appears to be manifesting through outbursts of temper when she feels she's been slighted (see also: Jessica Simpson).

But is Lindsay's temper a cry for help, her Leo ego covering her Cancer sensitivity? With all the uncertainty in her life, Lindsay seems to be floundering, drifting on a sea of nebulous water sign energy. Saturn in the solar return chart semisextiles her Sun, offering a subtle warning that she may need to check herself before she wrecks herself. Expect to see Lindsay learn a hard lesson in love in mid-September, when transiting Saturn conjuncts her Venus. She may discover that she can't always get what she wants... the question is, will this lead to a meltdown.

Should I close with one more rhetorical question? Okay. Happy birthday, Lindsay... just try not to have too much fun celebrating!
