Britney's Mama Drama: Part I

Back in February, when I first wrote about Britney Spears' feelings of rage toward mother Lynne right after she shaved her head, I did not imagine that it would go so far as Brit serving a DIY "restraining order" to her mama. But here we are. As retrograde Chiron (the "wounded healer" asteroid) approaches the Moon (representing emotions and the mother), an aspect that was first exact during the February head-shaving drama, Britney's issues of rage and rebellion toward her mother are again coming to a head. So is there hope for this family relationship yet?

While I unfortunately cannot do a definitive chart for Lynne as of now, due to incomplete data (if anyone knows the town where she was born, please let me know -- thanks much to Pluto for narrowing it down, as well as for suggesting the topic in the first place!), a look at her planets superimposed on Britney's natal chart reveals some interesting nuances of their dynamic. See Britney Spears' birth chart (Astrotheme)

For instance, the midpoint of Lynne's not-quite-conjunct Sun at 13 Taurus and Mercury at 25 Taurus falls directly on -- huh, what do you know? -- Britney's Chiron at 19 Taurus.

The way Chiron is translating light between Lynne's Sun and Mercury could suggest, rather weirdly, that she is at her most focused and centered when she is tapping in to Britney's Chiron energy, the ability to heal in others what is in ourselves damaged. Perhaps Lynne sees herself as a "fixer" in Britney's life when it comes to issues (like marriage and family) that she herself has not quite gotten a handle on yet. It's interesting that Britney is reported to be angry at her mother for forcing her into rehab when she didn't think she had a problem -- and has allegedly accused Lynne of being the one with an addiction, to prescription pills.

Further, Britney's mother's Sun in stubborn Taurus closely squares Britney's Moon (not to belabor the point, but representing the mother principle) in Aquarius. An Aquarius Moon in itself suggests a mother who is more of a friend than a parent, and indeed, in happier days Britney did describe her mom as her best friend. But the square to Lynne's Sun suggests that despite, or perhaps because of, this more egalitarian mother-daughter relationship, Britney still feels the need to rebel against and challenge her mom.

This is, obv, just the tip of the iceberg, but since I have to get going now (once in a great while I do actually have plans, you know), I figured I'd split this post up into installments, to avoid incurring any further ire at the consecutive birthday posts. ;) Stay tuned for more on the Spears family saga.

I myself don’t know much about astrology. As in, I can’t myself analyze a chart. But I read a lot in Britney’s analysis’s that a positive change in Britney will come when her “Saturn Returns”. Is that true? And at what time will this happen? One report suggested November?
