J.Lo Gives Birth! The Twins' Astrological Charts

Congratulations and felicidades to Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony on the birth of their twins early this morning! (And thanks again to readers who tipped me off to the birth data!) Obviously, I had to take a look at their horosopes ASAP! And let me tell you, J.Lo and Marc's influence looms over these charts in a big way.

To my knowledge, the newborns' names have not been released, but as foreshadowed by the pink-and-blue shower theme, there is a girl and a boy. I'll update the charts and make them all pretty as soon as the names are released, but I wanted to get the charts up right away. Here you go...

First, let me just say that both twins have the Moon (representing the mother) in controlling Virgo, in the influential 10th house. J.Lo is going to rule these kids' lives with an iron fist -- not that that should come as any great shock to anyone.

Also, Saturn, representing the father, is in Virgo (Marc Anthony's Sun sign), closely conjunct the Midheaven (career goals). Marc will also have a strong formative influence in the twins' careers -- dragging them out on tour as a Donny-and-Marie-style sibling act, perhaps?

The fact that the Moon and Saturn are in the same sign show that the twins' parents will present very much a united front in the way they raise and discipline them. But Virgo suggests that while the kids will be well cared for, this will be an old-school sit-up-straight, mind-your-manners upbringing. We won't be seeing the Lopez-Anthony kids dancing on tables and getting DUIs in 18 years ... or on second thought, maybe they will with a vengeance.

I'll follow up soon when the twins are named. For now, I have a cake to transport to an undisclosed location.

P.S. The obligatory note on data sourcing: According to People.com, the girl was born at 12:12 AM EST, followed by her brother at 12:23 AM. {Source} Although the location was not officially disclosed by reps, according to multiple reports, J.Lo gave birth at the North Shore University Hospital, which is located in the town of Manhasset on Long Island, New York. (What did people do before the Interwebs?)

The Latest J.Lo Pregnancy Rumor

Periodically, rumors surface that Jennifer Lopez is pregnant with the zombie spawn of her undead third husband, Marc Anthony. Such murmurings have recently been posted by Perez Hilton:

The usually stylish J. Lo looked rather plump in the mid-section and was sporting many a grey hair, a sign of women in the first trimester of their pregnancy....

Sources tell PerezHilton.com that the singer was scheduled to perform a series of concerts and Lopez just cancelled her entire international tour at the last minute, leaving many to believe that an impending pregnancy led her to make that decision. Source

Now, when last we reported a J.Lo pregancy rumor, in late January, I discussed the fact that her Moon sign was uncertain due to her unknown birth time. But at the time I was unaware of an even greater ambiguity, which is that J.Lo's year of birth is alternately given as 1969 or 1970. Without hard evidence in favor of one or the other, I have chosen to continue working with the 1969 chart, operating on the assumption that it would be highly unusual for a actress to lie and add a year to her age. Astrotheme now even has a chart with a birth time, though it makes me a little nervous that the time is exactly noon, which is the same time they use for default charts. See Jennifer Lopez's birth chart (Astrotheme, 1969 birth data) Please email me if you have evidence in favor of a different chart for La Lopez or have any idea where the noon birth time comes from.

With that out of the way, let us look at the current aspects affecting J.Lo.

If the noon time is correct, she has 14° Libra on the Ascendant, a degree currently being inconjuncted by Uranus in Pisces in the 5th house. The 5th house does rule pregnancy and childbirth, and the Ascendant represents physical appearance, so this aspect at least shows the impression, if not necessarily the reality, that Jennifer is pregnant. Pisces is ruled by confusing, deceptive Neptune and could represent the cloudy perception more than the actuality of a pregnancy. Neptune is also trining Jennifer's Venus, which could also be creating an aura of confusion around her.

With Mars crossing the Midheaven (ambitions and goals), and Saturn on her Sun-Mercury conjunction in the 10th house of career, it would seem that Jenny is focused on her many enterprises and quite disciplined at the moment. Of course it's no secret that she wants to have a baby, but I don't know that she has allowed herself to slow down long enough to let it happen. Honestly, I'm sorry to say it, but I don't see her being preggers.

J.Lo's Moon Sign Maternity Mystery

Yesterday MSNBC reported that Jennifer Lopez' weasellike third husband, was seen shopping for baby clothes, and we all know celebrities have assistants to pick out shower gifts, so that would seem to suggest that J.Lo has jumped on the Hollywood baby train.

Now, of course I turned to J.Lo's chart to seek some insight into this intensely personal matter which is none of my business. Yet I was shocked and dismayed to see that there is no recorded birth time on file for Jennifer Lopez! Shocked, because I fully expected that she would have emerged from the womb with a publicist in tow, ready to issue a release on her glorious entry into the world -- and dismayed, because without a solid birth time, all bets are off when it comes to important pregnancy indicators like the Moon and the 5th house.

Depending on what time of day she was born, J.Lo could have either a Scorpio or a Sagittarius moon. Since she's known for being intensely controlling and power-hungry as opposed to laid-back and philosophical (see: Angelina Jolie), my money is on the Scorpio moon. A noon birth chart (often done as a default when there is no reliable birth time) would place her Moon in late Scorpio, sandwiched neatly between Neptune in Scorpio (glamour, fame, power, control of one's image) and Mars in Sagittarius (drive, action, sexuality, adventure), uniting the energies of these planets. If indeed J.Lo's moon is in a late degree of Scorpio, a propitious time for her to conceive would be around late November 2006, when Jupiter conjuncts her Moon. Yet the proximity of Mars and Neptune to the Moon might be a double-edged sword, in that Jupiter's passage over these two planets will intensify attention on her career and public persona. It may be that later this year J.Lo has to choose between parenting plans and throwing herself into a new film project. Or perhaps she can avoid this dilemma by milking a pregnancy in the press to raise her profile. Hard to say without an accurate birth time. In any case, I just don't see her having a Sagittarius Moon, or she would have flown around the world adopting orphans by now.

Needless to say, please email me if you have any info on her birth time. (I'm trying to muster up the will to care about Marc Anthony's, though he frankly seems rather peripheral, in the grand style of Virgo husbands such as Ryan Phillippe and Guy Ritchie. Ah, well, sure, email me if you have his, too.)
